How To Ring In The New Year With Style

Step 1: Go to your parents' house in your jammies to eat an early dinner and play cards.

Step 2: Run/waddle into the living room when you hear a crash and your daughter scream.

Step 3: Inform the family that, yes, said child does need stitches in her busted, bleeding chin.

Step 4: Sit in the backseat of the car, pressing a washcloth to screaming baby's chin while you husband breaks land speed records to get to the Children's Hospital.

Step 5: Watch helplessly as the nurse applies numbing agent to chin and administers a sedative to your preshus wittle baby.

Step 6: Try not to pass out as darling offspring gets three stitches and demands that she see your face the entire time.

Step 7: Eat ice cream and laugh at how drugged your kid is. (seriously, did someone slip her a joint?)

Step 8: Go home, put punkin to bed, officially freak out, and wish that you had some of that awesome medicine as well, or at least some booze.

Happy New Year

Sounds like a perfect New Year's story! ;) Or at least one that you will remember for many years to come.

If only they will give you some of that drug when you go into labor then you won't remember the pain. ;)

dang!!! poor kiddo. I split my chin open two separate times when I was a kid, and the first one wasn't even my fault. I think my mom was this close to killing the girl who was responsible for my split chin.
